Strange Things About Kylie Jenner And Travis Scott's Relationship

Reality star Kylie Jenner and rapper Travis Scott became an item in April 2017. Their relationship moved at warp speed and their daughter, Stormi, was born on Feb. 1, 2018. What followed were ongoing rumors that there may have even been a second baby and an engagement on the way. However, these two eventually called it quits in the fall of 2019. Still, there were a lot of unusual aspects to this romance, but here are some of the strangest.

Travis Scott was reportedly Kylie Jenner's rebound from Tyga

Insiders claim that while Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott went on to become deeply in love, she reportedly started getting close to him initially to irk her ex, rapper Tyga, with whom she had a tumultuous on-again-off-again relationship.

"Travis and Kylie have been friends for a while and they all hang out," a source told People early on in Jenner's then-romance with Scott. "When she and Tyga are having drama, she tries to make him jealous by hanging out with other guys. When Kylie is happy, they're happy — but it's never that simple. There's always some kind of drama with Kylie and Tyga."

They had a baby almost immediately — and the world wasn't sure Travis Scott was the father

In September 2017, news broke that Kylie Jenner was pregnant with Travis Scott's baby. At the time, sources claimed the Kylie Cosmetics mogul was about four months along, and considering she and Scott only began dating in April 2017, it appears she conceived very early on into their relationship. We suppose when you know, you know?

An insider cited by Entertainment Tonight at the time said, "Kylie always wanted to be a young mom. She may be young, but she's very maternal and has lots of practice with babies! She's a very hands-on aunt and was basically a step-mom to Tyga's kid." For her part, Jenner famously laid low for almost her entire pregnancy, later revealing sweet moments from that time in a home video she posted to YouTube after her daughter's birth.

The then-couple welcomed daughter Stormi Webster on Feb. 1, 2018. It was so soon after Jenner's romance with Tyga ended that the "Rack City" rapper actually was rumored to be Stormi's father – an allegation both he and Jenner's mother, Kris, denied (but more on this below). Even Kylie Jenner's bodyguard, Tim Chung, was also forced to deny that he was Stormi's father after fans speculated they shared a resemblance. Yeesh.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott have matching tattoos

In June 2017, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott made their love permanent in a different way. The then-pairing flaunted matching tattoos at Khloé Kardashian's 33rd birthday party.

"They recently got matching butterfly tattoos on their ankles that they were showing off to their friends and family," a source told People at the time. "They were super affectionate and Travis was constantly kissing Kylie on the cheek and whispering in her ear. Their relationship seems to be getting stronger and they're closer than ever."

Following their September 2019 split, we imagine this former couple might just regret getting that ink done.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is a commitment phobe

Kylie Jenner seemed to be in no rush to be tied down or to make a long-term commitment, and, well, now she's got an 18-year commitment to a child, which reportedly gave those close to her some pause.

"Kylie broke up with Tyga partly because she felt too young to get serious," a source cited by People claimed. "Now she's having a baby with a guy she just started dating. People around her are really surprised. It happened really fast, but for Kylie, being with Travis is so different than anyone else. She's so in love with him. She's really excited."

Jenner had previously addressed her commitment issues herself on her short-lived reality show, Life of Kylie. "There was absolutely not one thing wrong with me and [Tyga]," she said (via In Touch Weekly). "He and I will always, always have a bond," she said. "There was no crazy fight, we just decided—well, I decided that I'm really young. I don't want to look back in five years from now and feel like he took something from me when he's really not that type of person."

Travis Scott is Rihanna's ex

Before hooking up with Kylie Jenner, Travis Scott was linked to Rihanna in September 2015 (and is seen here with Jenner's half-brother-in-law, Kanye West), though the romance was seemingly short-lived.

"Travis and Rihanna are dating, officially," a source told E! News. "It's already very serious. He's very into her ... Rihanna likes Travis a lot and hopes it develops into something more. All of her friends think he is gonna be the keeper." The insider added, "Travis is completely her type and they share the same interests."

Jenner could add Scott to the list of traits she shares with RiRi, including cosmetics empires, Puma deals, and scantily-clad Instagram posts.

Kylie Jenner doesn't think she can have a normal relationship

Kylie Jenner once lamented on Life of Kylie (via In Touch Weekly) that it's tough for her to have a normal relationship with anyone.

"The hardest part about having a relationship for me is just that it's blasted all over the Internet. You have to hear about other people's opinions on who you're with," she said. "It's a lot. Most of the time it's just not true. Like, you have no idea what I'm like in a relationship, or what kind of bond I have with somebody else." Jenner added, "You cannot win the Internet. There's no winning. It's just unnecessary negativity. I feel like I'm in a relationship with the world sometimes."

The Life of Kylie alum is scared of being alone

Kylie Jenner is reportedly terrified to be alone, especially in her own massive Beverly Hills mansion, so reports say that she invited then-beau Travis Scott to move in with her after less than six months together.

"It's a big a** house and Kylie honestly doesn't want to be there alone with her dogs," a source told Hollywood Life. "She would be too scared [to be by herself]. She wants to feel protected and secure and Travis provides that. Besides, she wants someone to keep her warm at night and to tell her how beautiful she is in the morning. And the only man she wants to make her feel that way and tell her that is Travis! They're really into one another and she's the one who suggested that they play house and see how living under one roof would be." The insider added, "She doesn't want him to pitch in financially, she just wants his presence!"

There were no shotgun wedding plans...

Sources told People that Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott had no immediate plans to wed following their pregnancy news. That seemed in line with how her mom, Kris Jenner, reacted to TMZ cameras in August 2017: When asked if Scott had her blessing to marry then-girlfriend Kylie, mama Kris cracked up laughing.

...because they may have already been married

Maybe the reason there were no wedding plans was because they already had one! A source cited by Life & Style claimed that despite the Kardashians' propensity for televised weddings (and breakups), Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott had reportedly already gotten married privately and quietly.

"Kylie and Travis tied the knot at her Calabasas mansion," an insider dished. "It wasn't a big, glamorous affair like other Kardashian weddings, and only a few close friends were invited. But Kylie is crazy about Travis. There were no official E! cameras there, but Kylie asked her friends to film the special moment on their iPhones."

If this was true, we're willing to bet mama Kris was breathing down Kylie's neck to get a prenup! As this relationship continued full speed ahead, there were many reasons to be concerned about these famous first-time parents. Keep reading to learn more.

Did Tyga say he was Stormi Webster's father?

Those paternity rumors just wouldn't end. Kylie Jenner's ex, Tyga, was still trolling her despite their split in April 2017, shortly before she started dating Travis Scott. He posted a since-deleted Snapchat of a screenshot of a TMZ headline about Jenner's pregnancy and captioned it with several devil emojis, writing, "Hell nah that's my kid." He later told TMZ that the post was fake, but it's clear that he wasn't thrilled about the baby news.

"Tyga is not dealing with the pregnancy news very well," a source told Hollywood Life. "He feels absolutely gutted and feels it should have been him. He hates it and really is sad with the news. It is not something he wants to think about. The news really sucks for him."

Perhaps in an effort to troll Jenner and her family further, Tyga began "full on dating" Kim Kardashian look-alike Kamilla Osman, People reported. Hey, maybe he just has a type.

Kylie Jenner has referred to herself as an 'infant'

In October 2016, Kylie Jenner and then-boyfriend Tyga explained why she wasn't pregnant or planning on getting pregnant or married at the time: because she was still just a child herself.

After first joking that she wasn't pregnant or married because her rapper beau was "slacking," Jenner said in a Snapchat video (via Hollywood Life), "'Cause I'm an infant and a child. And I don't want to be married and have a baby right now." Tyga concurred, "No, you're just a young woman who's focused on your career." Jenner then snapped, "No, I'm a baby."

But was she actually in a rush to have kids?

Some say Kylie Jenner wanted to be a young mom and that may have prompted her to rush into parenthood with then-boyfriend Travis Scott. "Kylie always wanted to be a young mom," a source told Entertainment Tonight. "She may be young, but she's very maternal and has lots of practice with babies! She's a very hands-on aunt and was basically a stepmom to Tyga's kid."

On an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2016, Jenner said she wanted to have kids by age 27 because having a kid at 30 would be "too late." Uh, what? A month later on Kocktails With Khloe, Jenner said (via In Touch Weekly), "I want kids for sure. I feel like seeing you guys go through everything, it's great knowledge. I feel like I want kids before I'm 30." Prior to that, in 2015, she told Teen Vogue she wanted to become a mom in her twenties. "When I look to the far future and decide to have kids, I need to have a million girls," she said. "Ten years from now — in 2025 — I hope I have a kid."

In June 2017, a source told OK! that Jenner had been desperate for a baby since she turned 18, when she was still dating Tyga. "Remember," the insider claimed, "[Kylie has] wanted to be pregnant with Tyga ever since she turned 18 and they had plenty of near-misses when she thought she had conceived."

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott's baby would be thrust into the spotlight

Kylie Jenner struggled with growing up in the spotlight on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and considering she still appears on KUWTK and also attempted her own spin-off, Life of Kylie, it's not surprising that Stormi Webster may have similar complexes regarding fame and identity.

"Kim always said this is what she's made for, and I respect that, but it's hard to do normal things when every single person knows who you are," Jenner lamented on Life of Kylie in August 2017 (via Entertainment Tonight). "I for sure didn't choose this life, but I'm not going to say that I'm totally innocent, because I am keeping up this lifestyle ... I know I'm making myself more famous by having an Instagram and posting photos, but I'm not that type of person, like, where I want all the attention. Like, I don't like that. It actually freaks me out because it reminds me that I'm Kylie f**king Jenner."

She added, "I don't know what it's like to live a normal life ... I feel like when you grow up on camera, people feel like they know you. I started filming Keeping Up With the Kardashians when I was 9 years old ... I feel like I've lost parts of myself." Jenner went on, "I'm putting up a version of myself to the world that isn't really me... I just feel like this fame thing is going to come to an end sooner than we think. I'm getting that bug again, where I just want to run away. I just don't know who I'm doing it for."

Travis Scott is surrounded by legal drama

In May 2017, TMZ reported that Travis Scott was arrested for allegedly inciting a riot during one of his concerts in Arkansas, with police claiming that he encouraged fans to rush the stage during a performance, which undermined security protocols and could have potentially been really dangerous. Sources close to Scott claimed that he had no intention of putting anyone in danger, and that he simply noticed some open space in the front near the general admission section of the venue, so he encouraged fans who were further back to move forward.

Two years prior, he was busted at Lollapalooza for allegedly instructing fans to ignore security protocols and jump over barricades. Also in 2015, Scott was accused of getting into a physical altercation with a fan who was said to have tried to literally yank Scott's chain. In late April 2017, TMZ reported that Scott offered a fan his ring after the fan allegedly jumped from a third floor balcony at his show and was injured in a failed attempted at a stage dive. Scott was accused of encouraging the fan to jump — an allegation he denied.

Most disturbingly, Scott was accused of sexual assault in a series of since-deleted tweets by former Sony Music employee Shane Morris. Scott denied the allegations, and no arrests were made or charges filed.

Their little tyke will have to compete for attention

Kylie Jenner's baby girl, Stormi, was born in February 2018. Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian's surrogate gave birth to her and Kanye West's fourth child, Psalm, in May 2019. While reports say Jenner was excited that her baby would have cousins close in age, the lil' lady will also have a lot of competition for attention. However, considering Jenner's distaste for fame, that may end up being for the best.

Kylie Jenner's own family may have been worried

Kylie Jenner's own family may have had doubts that she was ready for motherhood. While she was still pregnant with Stormi, a source cited by People claimed, "[The family thinks] Kylie is very naive. Spending time with other people's kids is obviously completely different than being a mom 24/7. Kylie of course has no idea about all the hard work and sleepless nights." The insider added, "With Tyga, whenever things were good, Kylie said she wanted a baby. Between spending lots of time with her nieces and nephews, and being around Tyga's son [4-year-old King Cairo], she claimed she was ready. Her family would beg her to protect herself. They were very concerned."

The source also alleged that Kylie's pregnancy "took some getting used to" for mom Kris Jenner. "But Kylie has always been very headstrong, she's always wanted to do her own thing despite what Kris says," the insider continued. "Of course Kris just wants the best for her daughter and loves and supports her no matter what."

When asked about the pregnancy news at an appearance at Milan Fashion Week, the famous momager awkwardly replied (via Radar Online), "It wouldn't be the family if something didn't happen every single day ... I just woke up this morning. She's not confirmed anything. I think it's kind of wild that everyone is just assuming that that's just happening."

Caitlyn Jenner was reportedly 'disappointed'

Kylie's father, Caitlyn Jenner, was reportedly unhappy with the baby news. "Caitlyn was really shocked and disappointed to learn that Kylie is pregnant," a source told Hollywood Life. "She thinks Kylie is way too young to have a baby, and that she should have waited until she was in a long-term committed relationship. Caitlyn is concerned that Kylie and Travis really haven't been dating very long, and that a baby will put a big strain on their relationship, but Kylie believes the exact opposite — that she and Travis will be together forever."

A rep for Caitlyn confirmed Kylie's pregnancy to The Sun, adding that the former Olympian was told about the news "some time ago."

Kris Jenner allegedly thought the baby was bad for business

Kris Jenner supposedly wasn't too happy about the baby news because, well, she's both a business manager and a mom, and reportedly thought the pregnancy would distract from her youngest's booming cosmetic business.

"Kris is just trying to control what she can and make sure no one forgets Kylie is also a businesswoman," a source told People. "She wants to set Kylie Cosmetics up to sell. Kylie has worked so hard to build that empire. Kris doesn't want to see the pregnancy affect how that is perceived." The insider was sure to add, "Of course, Kris will support Kylie being a mom, but she is still adjusting to the surprise news."

Was Stormi a publicity ploy?

Insiders believe that part of Kylie Jenner's motivation for motherhood was simply to increase her time in the limelight, despite voicing her reservations about it. A source told Radar Online that Kylie was hoping her baby and pregnancy would make for a second season of Life of Kylie, even though the first season didn't make a splash with critics or audiences.

"She was really hoping that this was going to be her big break and that it would land her a huge future in reality TV," a family source claimed. "After reading some of the reviews, Kylie just realized how far removed from reality she really is," another insider told the media outlet. "She didn't know how detached she was until she saw how people reacted to her show. She is not a happy person to begin with and all this show did was solidify that to her fans."

Life of Kylie did not have a second season.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott are partiers

The same night that Kylie Jenner's pregnancy news broke, Travis Scott reportedly partied in Miami with Kourtney Kardashian's on-and-off boyfriend, Scott Disick. According to Entertainment Tonight, the duo ordered "Hennessy, Patron, Don Julio 1942, Ciroc Peach & Mango, and Moet" — despite Disick having well-documented struggles with alcohol abuse. That same weekend, Jenner threw her then-BFF Jordyn Woods a party at a wine safari, though Hollywood Life reported that the pregnant reality star abstained from drinking any booze herself.

Even so, perhaps these parents-to-be should have reined it in a bit.

The paparazzi were on Kylie Jenner's tail in a big way

TMZ reports that because Kylie Jenner kept such an unusually low profile during her pregnancy, the first paparazzi snaps of her baby bump would command a huge price tag. Considering the lengths paparazzi will go for a shot — invading privacy or tangling with traffic — photographers may have ended up putting their own lives at risk, in addition to the safety of Jenner and her unborn baby. And since Jenner may not be the best driver, the potential intrusion from the press was cause for concern for mama and baby's well-being.

No matter the challenges to come, we wish Kylie, Travis, and Stormi all the best as they grow their family.

Travis Scott was accused of cheating more than once

In December 2018, Travis Scott was accused of cheating on Kylie Jenner — but it all turned out to be an elaborate hoax. A YouTuber staged the entire scenario, in which a Scott look-alike was pictured getting close to women who were not his baby mama. Of the incident, Jenner wrote in an Instagram Story, "Idk if this is really a social experiment to some people but you're messing with real people, real relationships, real family. I'm happy my relationship is strong because this is getting out of hand. The internet scares me sometimes for real" (via E! News).

However, this unfortunately wasn't Scott's only allegation of infidelity. TMZ reports that in late February 2019, he canceled a concert in Buffalo, N.Y. after Jenner allegedly accused him of cheating on her. Sources told the gossip rag that the reality TV star somehow found unspecified "evidence" that he was supposedly unfaithful, leading to a major argument that lasted several days. While Scott's rep vehemently denied the cheating allegations, the rapper temporarily deleted his Instagram account following the brouhaha. Weeks later, insiders told TMZ that the relationship was "damaged," but that Jenner and Scott were determined to work things out when their schedules permitted. They reportedly planned a vacation at the time to get their romance back on track.

They gave us TMI

Travis Scott served as a creative director for a Playboy spread of Kylie Jenner in various states of undress (including a fully nude shot featuring her controversial rear end), which hit the press in September 2019. Within the "Pleasure Issue," the then-couple also told the world more than any of us cared to know about their intimate life.

"A lot of people claim that having a baby can hurt your sex life, but I feel like that's the opposite of our experience," Scott quipped. Jenner replied, "Yeah, I feel like we've definitely proven that rumor to be wrong." Scott added, "You remind me that motherhood and sexuality can coexist, and just because you embrace your sexuality doesn't mean you have loose morals or you're not a good mother." Uh, thanks for the feminist discourse, we guess. Jenner also admitted within the story that she never would have considered posing for Playboy, but that she came around when she learned that Scott would be in charge of the shoot.

In addition to their sex life, they also gushed about their emotional intimacy. Jenner told Scott in their joint interview, "We think the same and have the same goals and passions in life. Besides the fact that we have good chemistry, we have a lot of fun together. You're my best friend. Through all the ups and down that every relationship has, we evolve together through them and keep getting stronger."

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott's relationship ended following engagement speculation

In early 2019, there was speculation that Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott would tie the knot. While Jenner insisted to Paper magazine that her then-beau hadn't put a ring on it yet, she made it clear they were blissfully happy together nonetheless ... but did the lady doth protest too much?

Just weeks after their Playboy issue debuted, it was reported on Oct. 1, 2019, that Jenner and Scott had broken up. TMZ reports that the exes had tried to work out their differences for a long time, but agreed to spend time apart. According to E! News, Jenner was spotted hanging out with old flame Tyga just a day after the breakup news made headlines. Twitter naturally had a field day over this development, but the publication noted that the meeting — an impromptu group outing with mutual friends — wasn't "as salacious as [it] might sound." An insider claimed, "Nothing romantic is going on."

Meanwhile, a source cited by People at the time alleged that Jenner and Scott still had "trust issues" and that their lifestyles were the biggest hurdle to overcome — but noted that they weren't necessarily totally over. "There were several issues that made them decide to take a break," the insider dished. "Kylie is all about family life and really wants a second baby." Scott, however, reportedly wasn't ready for that level of commitment yet.
