  • Jacob is a lifelong lover of all things pop culture, but especially music. He's been fascinated by it ever since his first piano lesson at 6 years old, and has continued to expand his musical taste and knowledge throughout the years.
  • He previously served as assistant editor of NYS Music, recapping Saturday Night Live's musical guests and creating the weekly newsletter.
  • During his studies at UAlbany, he was awarded the Marc G. Guggenheim ‘92 Endowed Scholarship for academic excellence and a career in writing.


Jacob Pitts is a writer, editor, and journalist who specializes in entertainment. From album reviews in his college newspaper to WatchMojo videos with hundreds of thousands of views, he's been highlighting the best and worst of pop music past, present, and future since 2017. Whether it's the Beatles, Björk, or Beyoncé, he approaches them all with equal enthusiasm and reverence. He's also written about health, lifestyle, and politics, and published short stories.


Jacob graduated from SUNY Albany in 2020, receiving a B.A. in English with a minor in journalism. He served as president of the UAlbany Page Turners, leading passionate literary discussions about old and new books of all genres.
