Kayla has more than five years of experience working as a journalist in television, print, and radio. She also has experience in filming, producing, editing, and social media. She is an Award-Winning Latina Journalist born and raised in the Bronx, NY who is now currently based in Atlanta. She grew up in a traditional Puerto Rican household and loves everything about her culture. Kayla recently worked as a full-time multimedia journalist for CBS46 News where she reported on breaking news, local businesses, crime, and entertainment at a top 10 news station. She also reported for Marietta Daily Journal where she reported on stories in the Cobb County area. Since she was a young girl, she has always aspired to be a journalist thanks to her grandmother who instilled in her the importance of the news. Kayla's desire to be a voice to the voiceless fuels her journalism journey.
Education
Kayla has a Master's Degree in Journalism from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, with an Arts and Culture concentration. She also has a Bachelor's Degree in Television and Radio Production with a double minor in Criminal Justice and Psychology.
